ओलिविया कल्पो ने मिस यूनिवर्स 2012 का खिताब 19 दिसंबर 2012 को जीता.बुधवार को लॉस वेगास के प्लेनेट हॉलीवुड कैसिनो में आयोजित प्रतियोगिता में 88 देशों की सुंदरियों को पछाड़ कर ओलिविया कल्पो ने यह खिताब हासिल किया।

उन्हें पिछले साल की मिस यूनिवर्स अंगोला की लीला लोपेज ने ताज पहनाया। भारत की शिल्पा सिंह आखिरी दस में जगह बनाने में नाकाम रहीं।

फिलीपींस की जैनी तुगोनो दूसरे  बिहार की 23 वर्षीय शिल्पा 2007 के बाद टॉप 16 में पहुंचने वाली पहली भारतीय सुंदरी हैं। इससे पहले 2000 में यह खिताब लारा दत्ता ने जीता था।

अमेरिकी गायक की लो ग्रीन, वेनेजुएला के बेस बॉल चैंपियन पाबलो सैंडोवाल, जापान के मशहूर शेफ माशाहारू मोरीमोतो और अमेरिकी बीच वॉलीबॉल चैंपियन केरी वाल्स जेनिंग्स प्रतिस्पर्धा के निर्णायक मंडल में शामिल थे.

Indian Railway launched New Luxury Train

Train will travel across three states - Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, started its maiden journey from Safdarjung railway station, New Delhi.

RTDC chairman Pramod Sharma said: The luxury Train will run every Sunday. It will travel across three states — Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh also will go to Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Udaipur, Khajuraho and Agra City.

There were 61 foreign tourists on board, as the train started its maiden trip on Sunday.

The train has on board a spa, gymnasium, deluxe saloons, specials suites, and two restro-lounges which make the journey truly a royal experience.

Consisting of 35 coaches, the train has a ferrying capacity of 82 passengers in one trip.

While the journey will cost $4,130 (Rs 2,14,760), one will have to shell out $1,600 (Rs 83,200) per day more if one travels in the special suite.

Mr. Sharma Said: "This train is better than 'Palace on Wheels' as it is more spacious and grander. It has every luxury travel which anyone would want,"

An Australian tourist Kent Vodan told, while the train was at Safdarjung station, New Delhi, India: "So far, the service has been really good and the crew is really hospitable.

It would be too early to say anything about the train as the journey has not even started yet,”

BaselWorld: Platinum Design Award winners announced 15th March 2012

Winners of the third Platinum Design Awards competition have been announced at the jewellery industry's BaselWorld event in Switzerland.


Hosted by Platinum Guild International (PGI), a total of 52 platinum jewellery pieces were entered, reports Professional Jeweller.

Pieces were judged by 50 journalists, with the competition split across four categories: men's jewellery, trends and two for bridal jewellery – one for the "most commercially appealing" and another for the most innovative.


PGI chief executive James Courage presented each of the winners with their awards.


Matthia's & Claire won in the commercially appealing bridal category with Ensemble, which also came second in the most innovative bridal section, won by Philippe Tournaire's French Kiss.


Bonato Milano 1960 won for Punti di Vista in the trends category, while Roberto Demeglio picked up the men's jewellery award for the piece Kerouac.

Pantene Bridal Couture Week 2012 Style 360 Day 2

Pantene Bridal Couture Week which was held in Karachi and will be ended on 17th April. The Day 2 of that fashion   week was as rocking as the day 1. Hasan Rizvi, Fahad Mustafa, Saba and Misbah, Shamaeel Ansari, Saim Ali, Rabbani  Rakha and many more fashion designers showcased their dresses and earned huge appreciation from the audience.
On the day 2 of Pantene Bridal Coutre Week new stylish dresses for both men and women were included. In Women Wear Anarkali Frocks, Gharara, Anghrakha, Lehngas was included and all the dresses were heavily embellished with embroidery and in Men Wear Kurta, Sherwani And Mughal Pajamas was included. At the finale of the Pantene Bridal Couture Week (PBCW) 2012, Pakistan’s premiere event for bridal wear, if there was anything worth waiting for, it was the tribute to some of the most prominent designers of the industry. The special cameo display, which marked the end of the three-day event, showcased an array of the designers’ best works and achievements. Out of a total of 14 designers creations that were presented, we chose the best five outfits, details of which are given below.

In a completely different take, Sayeed wowed the audience with the Rajasthani-Lahariya dupatta that he used for his bridal outfit. Additionally, his creative use of peacocks on the pink border of the farshi gharara, proved how well thought-out his designs are. The cotton wire work on the shirt and sequined work on the multi-coloured dupatta are the cherries on top of an already rich cake.
